Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Plano, TX seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Care) for a PRN, days-only schedule with rotating weekends. Join a multidisciplinary team and work with advanced technology to positively impact patient care.

You will review records, assess patients, apply therapies per protocol, and ensure age-appropriate care. Required credentials include AMA-approved program graduate, RCP/RRT, BCLS; ACLS for ICU/ED, NRP if NICU, and CLIA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program required.
  • RCP/RRT credentials required on hire.
  • BCLS; ACLS for ICU/ED; NRP if NICU; CLIA compliance for foreign education equivalency.

Responsibilities

  • Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
  • Evaluates each patient using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
  • Applies appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age-specific needs.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient's age and desire for treatment.
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.

PRN ( As Needed ); Days 7:00a- 7:00p with rotating weekends

Here’s What You Need
  • Other Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program upon hire required
  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
NICU Experience Strongly Preferred
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required and
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required and
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required and
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
