Job summary

IU Health in Indiana is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for PRN night shifts at IU North. You will provide respiratory care, monitor patients, and collaborate with care teams.

This role requires Indiana PRT license, CoARC-accredited program, NBRC registry within 6 months, and possible ACLS/PALS/NRP; strong customer service and EMR skills are essential; tuition reimbursement and career growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from Indiana.
• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.
• NBRC registry exam must be passed within 6 months of hire date; exception if hire date is past 1 year after graduation.
• Healthcare Provider Certification; advanced life support certifications may be required per unit.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certifications.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deal with confidential patient information.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care services to patients during night shift.
• Work with patients and team to build personalized therapies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Requires that the N.B.R.C. (National Board for Respiratory Care) registry exam be passed within 6 months of hire date. The 6-month requirement for the RRT is void if hire date is one year past graduation date.
• Requires Healthcare Provider Certification. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification.
• Requires strong customer service skills.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires the ability to deal with confidential patient information.
• Requires basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.
