Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapies, assess patients, and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans. The role requires NBRC credential, state licensure, BLS, and a 2-year degree in respiratory care. ACLS is preferred.

Work involves on-call duties and weekend requirements. Responsibilities include managing ventilation, conducting PFT/ABG workups, and coordinating with the health care team to ensure high-quality patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Associate's/2-year degree required.

Responsibilities

• Administers physician-prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen and medications.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine needs and makes recommendations.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation including weaning and airway care.
• Collects sputum, blood and breath specimens for diagnosis and measures lung capacity.
• Communicates with health care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT and ABG laboratory.
