Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide inhalation therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilator support for both adults and neonates. You will perform ABG analyses, PFTs, and cardiopulmonary evaluations under supervision and ensure patient safety and comfort.

The role requires BLS and ACLS, NBRC/TCB licensure, and may require NRP/PALS within a year. We value a collaborative team approach in a 443-bed hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered by the NBRC.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosols and airway clearance.
• Administers ABG, PFTs, and monitors cardiopulmonary status.
• Evaluates bedside respiratory function and reviews patient records.
• Uses critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT results when reviewing data.
• Maintains and troubleshoots respiratory equipment and devices.
• Supports infection control, safety, and quality assurance activities.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Uses scripted communications to enhance patient satisfaction.
