Role
Respiratory Therapist II responsible for providing advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in critical care settings, primarily in NICU.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and execution of procedures such as ventilator management, airway management, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Educate patients, families, and support systems; mentor and precept new staff, students, and peers.
- Ensure a safe and compliant environment by promoting accurate documentation, electronic order management, and adherence to safety protocols and performance improvement initiatives.
- Participate in invasive and non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics, contributing to a team approach for optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to policies, standards, and codes of conduct.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 science quarter hours; associate's degree required, bachelor's preferred.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and databases.
- Certifications required: Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Professional, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider, with instructor and provisional statuses as applicable.
