Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency in Austell, GA seeks a Respiratory Therapist II to deliver advanced respiratory care in critical settings, primarily NICU and ICU.

You will manage ventilators, assess patients, and collaborate with medical teams; teach families, mentor students, and uphold safety and documentation standards.

Applicants should have an RT credential, BLS, and preferred CC experience; ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RT program with required science hours.
• 0–2 years clinical experience; at least 6 months in critical care.
• Licenses and certifications: RRT, BLS; ACLS, PALS, NRP and instructor privileges may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care in NICU/ICU with independent decision making.
• Administer meds, ventilator management, airway care, ABG analysis.
• Educate patients and families; mentor staff and students.
• Document accurately and promote safety and performance improvements.
• Participate in invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics.

Job description

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care in critical settings, primarily in NICU and ICU, demonstrating independent decision-making and protocol management. Responsibilities include administering medications, ventilator management, airway care, arterial blood gas analysis, and patient assessment.

Key Duties:

• Deliver high-quality patient care through assessment, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Educate patients, families, and support staff, and mentor new employees and students.
• Ensure a safe environment by promoting accurate documentation, medication safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in invasive and non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics as needed.
• Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and professional development activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science; associate degree required, bachelor’s preferred.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and databases.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, Respiratory Care Professional license, and BLS certification are required. Additional certifications include ACLS, PALS, NRP, and instructor privileges are also necessary.
