Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide direct patient care and consult on therapy effectiveness in accordance with physician orders. The role acts as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care.

The position offers a sign-on bonus of $10,000 paid in four installments, and a 36-hour per week schedule. Candidates must be licensed RCP, NBRC-credentialed RRT, and meet CoArc accreditation standards. ACLS preferred for advanced roles.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC).
• PALS required for ER staff.
• Physical demands include push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 10 lbs, kneel, crouch and crawl.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Job Profile Summary

SIGN-ON BONUS OF $10,000; PAID OUT IN FOUR INSTALLMENTS.

Shift: 36 hours per week

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.

Preferred Education

• Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Preferred Experience

• Prefer critical care experience.
