Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved program of Respiratory Therapy, upon hire.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: KY, upon hire.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 Days.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 90 Days.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic respiratory care and develops plans for delivery of Respiratory Therapy as directed by physicians or protocols.
• Administers and monitors critical care procedures such as mechanical ventilation and physiological monitoring.
• Assesses the patient to determine therapy needs and communicates data to the physician.
• Authorized to make entries in the medical record and document responses to therapy.
• Provides instruction on theory, therapy, and equipment to patients, families, staff, and students.
• Assumes charge responsibilities in the supervisor’s absence and assigns workload.
