Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis County offers comprehensive medical and surgical services, including specialized care units, a 24-hour emergency department, and pediatric emergency services in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. It is the only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the ANCC and is ranked #2 in the St. Louis metro area by U.S. News & World Report.

The Respiratory Department provides treatments for infants and adults, performs procedures like mechanical ventilation, nitric oxide delivery, arterial blood gas sampling, and pulmonary function testing. The team also engages in rapid response activities and offers a clinical ladder program to recognize high-quality patient care and respiratory expertise.

Preferred Qualifications & Responsibilities

The role involves providing direct patient respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and implementation, with a focus on safety and quality. Responsibilities include effective communication, education, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and supporting advanced clinical skills such as ECMO, ventilator support, and bronchoscopy.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate degree or CoARC-accredited program in Respiratory Therapy
• No prior experience required

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BCLS)
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
