• Rotating Weekends
• Cares for mostly adult respiratory needs across the hospital.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care related to respiratory therapy, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within hospital and departmental guidelines. Applies advanced clinical expertise and scientific knowledge, serving as a resource within the patient care team. Ensures patient safety by providing effective, developmentally and age-appropriate care, complying with all quality, regulatory, and quality improvement standards.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively, participating in information exchange, documentation, handoffs, and collaborates with the healthcare team.
• Provides education and training on respiratory treatments and procedures to patients, families, students, new employees, and team members, utilizing diverse learning styles.
• Holds self-accountable, seeks continuous learning and feedback, and manages multiple duties efficiently.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures according to standards, guidelines, and policies, applying clinical knowledge to assess, analyze, and troubleshoot as needed.
• Demonstrates advanced skills supporting responsibilities such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, sleep lab, labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary and circulatory rehab, BLS, etc., as needed.
