Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in a rural acute critical access hospital setting. Thisnight shift position offers a unique opportunity to work independently and make a meaningful impact on a close-knit community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics, including end-of-life care.
- Operate and manage advanced respiratory equipment, including:
- Fisher & Paykel Airvo 2 Heated High Flow System
- Hamilton T1 ventilator
- Nihon Kohden NKV-330 Non-Invasive Ventilation machine
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and EKGs.
- Administer breathing treatments using various devices and delivery systems.
- Manage ventilators and provide airway management for critical patients.
- Work autonomously during night shifts, ensuring high standards of patient care and responding to emergencies as the sole respiratory therapist on duty.
- Document patient care using the Meditech Electronic Medical Record system.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required).
- Current certifications in or ability to obtain:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Experience working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan.
- Familiarity with the equipment listed above is strongly preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
