**Responsibilities**

• Provides care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory problems, including treatment, management, control, and diagnostic evaluation of cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Administers therapy modalities such as handheld nebulizers, metered-dose inhalers, intrapulmonary percussive ventilation, chest physical therapy, and medication administration during these therapies.
• Administers medical gases, including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen therapy.
• Performs ventilation therapies, manages life support systems, and transports ventilated patients for diagnostics.
• Conducts physiological monitoring and diagnostic tests like ABG puncture, pulmonary function tests, capnography, pulse oximetry, and sleep apnea assessments.
• Performs specialized procedures such as CPR, bronchial lavage, airway care, and assists in pulmonary diagnostics.

**Qualifications**

• Completion of a respiratory care degree program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in Texas.
• May require BLS/ACLS/NRP or PALS depending on location.
