Job description

**Responsibilities:**
Provides care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory problems, including treatment, management, control, and diagnostic evaluation of cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.

• Administer therapy modalities such as handheld nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, IPV, CPT, and Pentamidine therapy, including medication administration during these therapies.
• Administer medical gases like oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy.
• Perform ventilation therapies, manage life support systems, and transport ventilated patients for diagnostics.
• Conduct physiological monitoring and diagnostic tests including ABG, bronchoscopy assistance, pulmonary function tests, apnea monitoring, capnography, pulse oximetry, and sleep apnea assessment.
• Perform specialized procedures like CPR, bronchial lavage, patient transport, cardiopulmonary rehab, airway care, and body mechanics/ambulation. May be assigned to the Pulmonary Function Lab for diagnostic procedures such as spirometry and gas diffusion tests.

**Qualifications:**
Required: Completion of a respiratory care degree program, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification, and Texas state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). Location-specific requirements may include BLS, ACLS, NRP, or PALS certifications.
