Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shifts at Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, TX. The role supports respiratory care under physician orders, with potential Lead RCP responsibilities in supervisor absence. Per diem as needed.

Requirements include NBRC RRT, active state RCP license, BLS and ACLS; PALS preferred. Two years acute care experience is preferred; Neonatal Resuscitation is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current State RCP license required.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or eligible within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification on hire and maintained.
• PALS certification on hire and maintained or within 60 days.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program preferred.
• AA/BS degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to aid breathing.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung function.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment.
• Assist in rapid response, including airway management and possible intubations.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of equipment to prevent infections.

Location: Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX

We are seeking aRegisteredRespiratory Therapist,internallyreferred to as ourRRT.The RRT can be referred to as aRespiratory Care Practitioner(RCP II)butsomeone whocarries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population; in the absence of a supervisor, they may bedesignatedas the Lead RCP, overseeing the department during their shift.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

• Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily

• Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients

• Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently

• May bepartofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations

• Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed

• Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

1. Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.

2. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.

4. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.

5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.

6. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.

7. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

8. Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
