Base pay range

Role Description

We are currently seeking a Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) with 5-25 years of experience for the Austin office of one of our portfolio companies. This in-person role involves managing surveying projects, reviewing, signing, and sealing survey drawings and metes and bounds descriptions, preparation of proposals, budgets, and scheduling, and ensuring compliance with quality control standards. The candidate will be responsible for helping to generate sales, maintaining client and employee relationships, and directing field and office staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Boundary Analysis and Research.
• Project Management oversight.
• Direction of field and technical staff.
• Preparation, signing and sealing of metes and bounds descriptions and survey drawings.
• Assessing, monitoring, and calibrating field equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with land surveying safety standards.
• RFQ/RFP analysis and proposal writing for new sales opportunities.
• Sales generation and client relationship management. *Commission based bonus opportunities are available based on realized sales.

Qualifications/Experience

• The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience as a Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
• Advanced knowledge of office and survey software (Word, Excel, Trimble, and Civil 3D).
• Must possess strong technical verbal and writing skills.
• Must be able to read and interpret technical literature and engineering plans.
• Proficiency in Topographic Surveys and Building Surveying.
• In depth AutoCAD Civil 3D skills as needed to perform analysis and quality control for projects.
• Expertise in Land Surveying and Surveying techniques.
• Experience with Total Station operation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certificates and Licenses

• Must have a current license to practice land surveying in the State of Texas, be TxDot pre-certified, maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and have the ability to operate a vehicle.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• This is an in-office position however it includes field exposure so the candidate must be able to traverse all types of project sites including industrial, commercial, and undeveloped ground.

Compensation

• We offer base salary of $95,000-$145,000 based on skills and experience with total compensation opportunities up to $165,000 inclusive of sales commissions.
