Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina Sleep Center in Charleston seeks a polysomnographic technologist to administer sleep studies and provide comprehensive evaluation of sleep disorders. Under physician supervision, you will perform in-center and home sleep apnea testing and educate patients.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Job Description

The Polysomnographic technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The technologist should be registered in sleep technology or be eligible to sit for the registry exam within 6 months of hire. The Medical University of South Carolina Sleep Center is in Charleston at the main hospital. It is accredited by The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
