Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital in Akron, OH, is seeking an experienced RPSGT to conduct overnight sleep studies, prepare patients and equipment, and educate patients on the testing process.

You will monitor physiological data through the night, score and report results, and supervise trainees, while following BRPT guidelines and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) is responsible for conducting overnight sleep studies to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. This role involves preparing patients for testing, applying monitoring equipment, educating patients on the sleep study process, and monitoring physiological data throughout the night.

A caregiver in this position works nights, Sunday through Friday from 6:30pm to 7:00am on 3 12hr shifts. No holidays required. Shifts are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday OR Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

• Prepare patient and equipment for ordered testing.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• Registered Polysomnography Technologist, under the BRPT guidelines

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients.
• Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
• Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $22.85

Maximum hourly: $34.85
