• Pharmacy Technician Certification is required
• Registered NYS Pharmacy Tech License is required
• 1 year pharmacy experience is required
• Basic computer skills are required
• Strong communication, organization and attention to detail are needed

Responsibilities

• Maintains active Pharmacy Technician Certification and NYS registration in good standing
• Manage inventory received from vendors in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Maintains familiarity with formulary drugs including their dosage forms, strengths, generic trade names, storage conditions and dispense locations
• Communicates low inventory levels, discrepancies, variances, and instances of damaged product upon receipt to the pharmacy supervisor and/or inventory and procurement manager
• Assists pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medication in accordance with NYS, federal and local regulations, and hospital/departmental policies and procedures
• Management of Automated Dispensing Cabinet and Anesthesia Workstations, including inventory management and troubleshooting as needed and as directed by department SOP
• Manage Emergency Code tray inventory and location tracking utilizing RFID technology
• Manage Controlled Substance inventory in accordance with NYS, federal and local regulations, and departmental policies and procedures
• Appropriately manage returns for redistribution
• Repackaging of unit doses medications as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
