Job summary

Harbor Health Services is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician for the Harbor Community Health Center in Hyannis, MA. This full-time role supports the pharmacist with prescription typing, preparation, and labeling, and delivers strong customer service at the point of sale.

Responsibilities include processing insurances, refills, inventory, and coordination of prescription orders for shipment, while adhering to MA Board of Pharmacy rules and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician license from the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
• Six months to 2 years of pharmacy experience, preferably outpatient/retail.
• Flexible schedule to meet clinic needs.
• Knowledge of OTC drugs and related laws.
• Proficient with insurance plans and pharmacy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions accurately for pharmacist verification.
• Handle prescription refills and insurance authorizations.
• Count, label, and prepare medications for dispensing.
• Stock shelves and manage inventory (340B vs Retail).
• Prepare unit doses and patient-specific medication cards.
• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Follow MA Board of Pharmacy guidelines for registered technicians.
• Assist training of new technicians and cross-training.
• Support continuous improvement by suggesting methods.
