Job summary

Harbor Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician for the Harbor Community Health Center in Hyannis, MA. You will assist with prescriptions, verify insurance, and interact with patients at the point of sale in a fast-paced retail pharmacy within a community health setting.

The role requires Massachusetts registration, a current BLS certificate, and 6 months to 2 years of pharmacy experience, with a schedule including days and some weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician license from the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy required.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Six months to 2 years of pharmacy or related experience, preferably in outpatient clinic or retail.
• Must be flexible for different schedules.
• Knowledge of OTC drugs and related laws.
• Strong knowledge of insurance plans.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual a plus.
• Detail oriented with good organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Typing, preparing and filling prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
• Process prescriptions through various insurances, including error resolution.
• Count, fill and label medications; manage stock and inventory.
• Prepare unit dose and medication cards; assist with shipments.
• Provide customer service at the point of sale and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Train new technicians and cross-train in new areas.
• Support pharmacy operations and suggest process improvements.
