Job summary

Harbor Health Services seeks a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join the Harbor Community Health Center in Hyannis, MA. The technician will assist the pharmacist with typing, preparing, and filling prescriptions under supervision.

Requirements include MA license, High School diploma, current BLS, 6 months to 2 years of outpatient/retail pharmacy experience, and flexibility for days, evenings, and some weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy registered technician license.
• Current BLS certification.
• 6 months to 2 years of pharmacy or related experience.
• Flexible schedules to meet pharmacy needs.
• Knowledge of OTC drugs and related laws.
• Competent knowledge of insurance plans.

Responsibilities

• Requests and accepts prescription refill authorizations with no changes.
• Processes prescription medications through various insurances including error resolution.
• Counts, fills, and labels medications.
• Restocks shelves and checks inventory.
• Prepares unit dose and medication cards.
• Greets patients at the point of sale with excellent customer service.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Train and assist new technicians.
