Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Registered Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy department. You will fill and verify prescriptions, counsel patients, and support the pharmacy team with wellness programs and community outreach.

Eligibility requires a pharmacy license and ongoing CE; you will also manage inventory, assist with third‑party billing, and supervise staff in the manager’s absence. This is a fast‑paced retail hospitaliti‑oriented setting.

Qualifications

• College degree and licensure in pharmacy required; must maintain continuing education to keep license active.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service while greeting customers and making interactions positive.
• Fill and verify prescriptions and counsel patients in accordance with OBRA ’90 regulations and laws.
• Assist with controlled substance inventory as needed and conduct inventory control.
• Manage inventory including ordering, stocking, invoices, and entering data.
• Reconcile third‑party accounts and balance monthly inventory.
• Assist with ordering and merchandising over‑the‑counter products.
• Coach, counsel, and train pharmacy employees and participate in training.
• Visit schools, doctors' offices, and senior centers to market pharmacy services.
• Grow sales through counseling and wellness programs.
• Follow security and regulatory procedures including QA programs.
• Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
• Collaborate with other departments to promote wellness and the pharmacy.
• Administer immunizations as certified.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Adhere to Hy‑Vee policies and all relevant regulations.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
