Job summary

Thalia Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing in Virginia Beach seeks an experienced RN Supervisor to oversee overnight nursing operations. You will provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants to ensure high-quality, compliant care.

The role requires Virginia RN license, BLS, and a calm, team-focused leader who can coordinate with care teams, monitor patient status, and support discharge planning in a resident-centered facility.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer medications and record treatments per policy.
• Educate patients on procedures and record vital signs.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective actions for adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for diverse medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and care coordination.
• Record all care information accurately in the proper format and system.
• Supervise support staff and licensed nurses.

Job Description

Summary: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times.

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, starts IVs
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms
• Supervision of support staff and licensed nurse

Requirements/Qualifications

• Current Virginia RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Associate degree
