Job summary

Nans Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking an RN Supervisor to provide direct nursing care and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This role ensures care is delivered in accordance with Federal, State, and Local standards and under the direction of the Director of Nursing to maintain high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and record accordingly.
• Educate patients on procedures and record vitals.
• Monitor and adjust equipment and interpret displays.
• Initiate corrective action when adverse symptoms arise.
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of patients, including pre- and post-surgery.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Record care information accurately and timely.
• Supervision of support staff and licensed nurse.

Job Description:

Summary: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times.

Shift details:

All shifts available, 8 hour and 12 hour

Responsibilities:

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, starts IVs
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms
• Supervision of support staff and licensed nurse

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Current Virginia RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Associate degree
