Job summary

Thalia Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking an Overnight RN supervisor to lead nursing staff and ensure high-quality patient care during the 9pm–5am shift in Virginia Beach, VA. You will supervise licensed nurses and aides, coordinate with the healthcare team, and uphold federal, state, and local standards.

Ideal candidates hold a Virginia RN license, BLS, and an associate degree, with strong leadership, compassion, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer medications and record prescribed therapies; report adverse reactions per policy.
• Educate patients on procedures and record medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when a patient displays adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner.
• Supervision of support staff and licensed nurse.

Job Description

Summary: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times.

• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
