Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for General Surgery 3W.

You will provide patient care within the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework, coordinating care with other departments and upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Minimum 2 years of patient care experience, current RN license (compact where available) and BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Physical ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care following Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Ensure professional accountability in the provision of patient care for assigned patients.

Position Details

Schedule:

Full-time, Weekend | 36 hours/week

Shift:

Nights 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
