Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Night Shift ICU Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care within the unit’s scope. You will follow hospital policies, document patient responses, and contribute to care planning.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, coordinating plan of care, teaching patients and families, and supervising ancillary staff to ensure safe, effective care during 7:00pm–7:00am shifts. On-site, full-time role with weekends required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• State of Michigan RN license is required.
• ACLS or PALS/TNCC/NRP credentials meet role requirements with stated timelines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.
• Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
• Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS preferred in other units.
