Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the 2 N Intensive Care Unit. You will coordinate nursing care for monitored patients during hospital stays, including cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic stabilization.

The RN ensures quality care, maintains patient privacy and safety, and responds to emergent situations per department standards. Evening/night shift and full-time schedule apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS within the first 6 months of hire.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire.
• Preferred: 2+ years acute care RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding focusing on pain, position, personal needs.
• Provides professional nursing care directly to patients.
• Administers medications as directed.

The registered nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, responsive to emergent situations and care of evidence-based medicine patients. The registered nurse ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Department of Public Health, the medical center and nursing department standards. Utilizing the nursing process, functions primarily in direct patient care. The registered nurse participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment, maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patient’s rights.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions
• Provides professional nursing care directly to patients
• Administers medication to patients as directed

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License
• BLS certified
• ACLS within the first 6 months of hire
• TNCC within 1 year of hire

Preferred:

• Previous work experience within the specific unit specialty or 2+ years acute care RN experience
• Previous completion of AACN ECCO modules
• Specialty certification within the specific unit
