Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Lansing, MI is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services unit. You will deliver nursing care within your scope of practice, using the nursing process and hospital standards, during nights on a 72-hour biweekly schedule.

Required include Michigan RN license, BLS, and ACLS; PALS/NRTTN within specified timelines. Prior specialty experience preferred; on-call and weekend shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification as Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• ACLS required within six months for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, ICU and Step-Down; NRP for Labor & Delivery; PALS for Pediatrics; TNCC within one year for ED.

Responsibilities

• Assess each assigned patient, document and evaluate response to plan of care, and take corrective action.
• Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provide patient teaching.
• Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.
• Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
• Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department.

Preferred

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS preferred in other units.
