Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse in Michigan for night shifts on a full-time schedule. You will collaborate with physicians to implement care plans, provide bedside nursing, and oversee care teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include leading care coordination, participating in discharge planning, teaching, and mentoring staff while maintaining professional growth and adherence to ACLS/BLS requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice in Michigan.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• ACLS course required within one year of hire/transfer.
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completed as soon as possible after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides bedside nursing care and carries out medical orders.
• Delegates to and oversees Nursing Assistants and related roles.
• Leads patient conferences and coordinates teaching needs.
• Mentors and precepts new staff and students.
• Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and assignments.

Daily Work Times: 7p-7:30a

Shift: Nights

Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 72

$10,000.00 sign on bonus for RN's with at least one year of ICU experience.

Position Summary

Collaborates with physician to provide a plan of care that will return the patient to optimal health. Provides bedside nursing care and carries out medical orders. Delegates to and oversees Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Associate, OB Care Associate, Surgical Service Assistant, Nursing Clerk and Psychiatric Tech functions. Responsible for evaluating effectiveness of care plan.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for a leadership role encompassing:

• Integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice.
• Delegation and coordination of tasks and assignments of nursing care.
• Facilitates/participates in patient conferences.
• Identifies and provides the means to meet patients’ ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs by communicating with the appropriate resource persons and attending discharge/transfer planning conferences.
• Assumes the responsibility for professional growth by seeking out educational opportunities and utilizing programs in the hospital or elsewhere in the community.
• Teaches and/or guides professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precepts/mentors new employees and students.
• Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments.

Required

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holding a current license to practice in the state of Michigan.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Must satisfactorily complete ACLS course and Critical Care course within one year of hire/transfer
• Must satisfactorily complete first available Basic Dysrhythmia course

Preferred

• Six-month experience in acute care setting or equivalent
• Critical Care Registered Nurse
