Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 14-week travel assignment. You will work nights in med/surg/tele/IMCU areas, performing comprehensive nursing care and patient assessments as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires a Virginia RN license, ADN/BSN/MSN, and recent bedside hospital experience. ACLS/BLS credentials are expected, with opportunities for leadership and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited program (ADN/BSN/MSN).
• Current Virginia RN license with ACLS and BLS credentials.
• Must have at least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in hospital med/surg/tele and IMCU.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess, admit, and round on patients; administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with families and health care team to ensure patient safety and quality care.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

RN Degree - ADN, BSN or MSN

Certification / Licensure

Valid RN License to practice in Virginia

Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Experience

MUST have AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT bedside RN experience in a HOSPITAL on med/surg/tele AND IMCU
