Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This 14-week temp position features 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week) with days and nights available.

This is a primary role with no benefits provided and a rate of $75/hr. The RN must have an Associate's, Diploma, or Bachelor's in Nursing, TNCC, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and an active VA license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• AT LEAST 2 years of RECENT HOSPITAL EMERGENCY DEPT bedside RN experience required.
• TNCC, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications are required/strongly preferred.
• RN licensure or eligibility to practice in VA is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with ED team to coordinate care and educate patients and families.
• Uphold standards of practice and participate in performance improvement initiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
