SENTARA NORTHERN VIRGINIA MEDICAL CENTER in Woodbridge, VA, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This 14-week temp position features 12-hour shifts (7P–7A) and no benefits; compensation is $75/hr. Flexibility in scheduling is required and this primary position is not scheduled around other jobs.

Education options include ADN, BSN, or Diploma. Certifications TNCC, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and VA RN license eligibility are required. EPIC experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent hospital ED RN experience.
• TNCC, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS required.
• VA RN license eligibility required.

Duties/Responsibilities

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
