Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, seeks an experienced RN for the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit to deliver high-quality, safe patient care during night shifts. The hospital is a 297-bed, non-profit facility with a focus on clinical excellence.

Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, direct patient care, and patient/family education. Active RN license required; BLS mandatory; ACLS preferred; BSN preferred; prior acute care experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• RN license and relevant certifications required.
• BLS certificate at hire; ACLS preferred.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care in Med/Surg/Telemetry and guide patient/family teaching.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patients clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
