Job summary

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California is required.
• Telemetry nursing experience of 1.5–2 years is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiovascular telemetry/PCU unit with a 4:1 telemetry or 3:1 PCU patient ratio.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry equipment including telemetry boxes and Alaris pumps.
• Care for patients including post-op open heart (day 3+), stroke, angiogram, PCI, and various post-operative surgical patients.
• Perform and assist with procedures such as TR band maintenance, chest tube care, wound vac management, and swallow/dysphagia assessments.
• Accurately document patient care activities using Meditech EMR.
• Float to other cardiovascular or med-surgical units on the same campus as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiovascular telemetry/PCU unit with a 4:1 telemetry or 3:1 PCU patient ratio

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5–2 years of telemetry nursing experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications required

• Ability to work rotating weekends; no set schedule is guaranteed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in PCU, telemetry, or stroke nursing
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Familiarity with equipment such as Alaris pumps, wound vacs, Hoya lifts, and glucometers
