Qualifications

Registered Nurse - System Cath Lab Float Pool (260004H2)

Provides safe, efficient, age‑specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

University Hospitals is currently seeking System Float RNs to support our Cardiac Cath Labs at the following locations:

• Ahuja Medical Center
• Cleveland Medical Center
• Elyria Medical Center
• Geauga Medical Center
• Lake West Medical Center
• Parma Medical Center
• Portage Medical Center
• Samaritan Medical Center
• St. John Medical Center

• System Float RNs will receive a daily assignment; assignments are determined based on greatest staffing needs
• One weekend per month on‑call requirement

• Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities
• Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI); annual training and the UH Code of Conduct and policies address appropriate use of PHI

Education

• Other accredited program: Diploma in Nursing or
• (ADN) Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
• (BSN) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• (MN) Master’s in Nursing (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice (required proficiency)
• Use a variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices) (required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi‑State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) (Required Upon Hire)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required based on clinical care standards of the unit; refer to ACLS/PALS unit requirements document on DWP Nursing Portal
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) may be required based on clinical care standards of the unit; refer to ACLS/PALS unit requirements document on DWP Nursing Portal
