Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a Registered Nurse to join the PCU Surgical Oncology unit. You will provide comprehensive nursing care on a night shift, with rotating weekends and holidays, 36 hours per week, and opportunities for salary growth.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• RN licensure required; BLS certification required.
• 1+ year acute care hospital experience preferred.
• EKG knowledge is part of unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of physical, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and revise as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per orders and protocols; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff and departments to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.

Job Description:

Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Night, 7:00pm-7:00am, rotating weekends and holidays

Unit Highlights:

• PCU Surgical Oncology (WT12) is populated mostly by gynecologic oncology patients. These are women with ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulva, & endometrial cancers. We typically see these patients when they come in for surgery, either to have their mass removed or a total abdominal hysterectomy. Any empty rooms are typically filled with overflow from the other oncology units, so we see all types of cancer on this unit.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.

• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.

• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
