Job summary

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience in patient care.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Active RN license in Missouri or eligible to practice in MO.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess and plan care.
• Performs patient care tasks as assigned.
• Delegates patient care responsibilities to support staff as appropriate.
• Supervises other patient care staff on the unit.

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Surgical Care Unit.

As a Surgical Care nurse on this unit you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide care to patients with a variety of conditions, acuity levels, telemetry monitoring status, and treatment plans. This nursing position will provide you with variety in your day-to-day and allow you to expand and grow your nursing skills. This unit cares for complex GI surgeries including whipples, surgical oncology, liver resections, ostomy creation, bariatrics, complicated urology, and abdominal trauma. These patients require complex pain management systems including PCA, Epidural and other continuous infusions, as well as involved wound care, drain management and alternative methods of nutritional support.

Shift Details

Shift Details: 6:45 am to 7:15 pm - this position comes with a night and weekend differential
