Job summary

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Surgical Care Unit. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to care for patients undergoing complex GI surgeries and other procedures, with exposure to pain management systems and wound/drain care.

The unit offers diverse day-to-day experiences and opportunities for growth. The position requires active RN licensure, an Associate degree, and BLS certification, with less than 1 year of experience

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience in patient care.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Active RN license in Missouri or eligible to practice in MO.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess and plan care.
• Performs patient care tasks as assigned.
• Delegates patient care responsibilities to support staff as appropriate.
• Supervises other patient care staff on the unit.
• Coordinates the plan of care for a group of patients.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Adheres to policies, rules, guidelines and procedures.
