Job summary

St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time AM shift. You will provide direct patient care, monitor hemodynamics, and communicate changes to physicians while protecting patient privacy.

Requirements include a CA RN license, current BLS and ACLS, NIHSS certification, and a preferred PALS. At least one year of acute care OR experience is desirable. No recruiter referrals.

  • Sexual Harassment/ Bullying Prevention Certification required. (1 month from hire)
  • Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience in an acute care operating room preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently uses two patient identifiers when drawing lab, administering medications and performing procedures.
  • Does not use unacceptable abbreviations in documentation and using read back on all telephone orders.
  • Follows medication reconciliation policy.
  • Performs systematic assessment and data collection focusing on the physiological, cultural, psychological, spiritual and cognitive status of the patient.
  • Evaluates, develops and prioritizes a plan of care that is individualized and goal directed based on nursing diagnosis, patient needs and standards of care in perioperative unit.
  • Provides safe therapeutic care in a knowledgeable, skillful and continuous manner involving all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates competence in the care of pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients (when/if assigned) relative to determining each patient\'s age-related and other physical, psychosocial and cultural needs and carry out patient care activities.
  • Assesses and evaluates patient plan of care and teaching needs. Documents effectiveness and revises plans as needed.
  • Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to legal issues and patient rights in a confidential manner.
  • Maintains current California licensure and service specific certifications while demonstrating an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice based on the Nurse Practice Act and hospital standards of care.

Job Summary

Full-Time (1.0) AM SHIFT APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE: $60.64 - $90.22 POSITION SUMMARY The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care given to his/her assigned patients. Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
