Job summary

Responsibilities

• Consistently uses two patient identifiers when drawing lab, administering medications and performing procedures.
• Does not use unacceptable abbreviations in documentation and uses read back on all telephone orders.
• Consistently follows medication reconciliation policy.
• Performs systematic assessment and data collection focusing on the patient’s status.
• Evaluates and prioritizes a plan of care based on nursing diagnosis and standards of care.
• Provides safe therapeutic care in a team-based setting.
• Demonstrates competence in care for pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients when assigned.
• Assesses and evaluates patient plan of care and teaching needs; documents effectiveness.
• Maintains awareness of patient rights and confidentiality.
• Maintains California licensure and service-specific certifications per Nurse Practice Act.

Job description/Responsibilities: FULL-TIME (1.0)AM SHIFTAPPROXIMATE PAY RANGE:$60.64 - $90.22POSITION SUMMARYThe Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care given to his/her assigned patients. Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient?s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

6. Provides safe therapeutic care in a knowledgeable, skillful and continuous manner involving all members of the health care team.
7. Demonstrates competence in the care of pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients (when/if assigned to these patients) relative to determining each patient?s age-related and other physical, psychosocial and cultural needs and carry out patient care activities.
8. Assesses and evaluates patient plan of care and teaching needs. Documents effectiveness and revises plans as needed.
9. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to legal issues and patient rights in a confidential manner.
10. Maintains current California licensure and service specific certifications while demonstrating an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice based on the Nurse Practice Act and hospital standards of care.
