Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Surge Unit. This 12-hour day/night rotator position will cover the surge unit within the CICU, with float to other areas as needed.

36 hours weekly and every other weekend are required, with a $15,000 sign-on bonus eligible and nursing student loan paydown up to $20,000. Requirements include RN licensure in NH (or multistate), BLS during orientation, and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients and families using the nursing process.
• Create a therapeutic and caring environment for patients and families.
• Collaborate with ER and inpatient units to ensure seamless care across shifts.
• Float to other areas as needed to meet patient care needs.
• Maintain appropriate patient/nurse ratios and escalate concerns as needed.

(Paid in 3, 6, and 12 months)Nursing Student Loan Paydown Program up to $20,000Who We Are:The surge unit is a 14 bed unit that specializes in providing inpatient level of care to patients who are awaiting inpatient bed placement. We specialize in cardiac/telemetry and medical/surgical patients. The surge unit is overseen by the CICU inpatient managers. This position is based in the CICU, primarily assigned to the Surge Unit, with the expectation that you will float to other areas as needed. Strong teamwork and communication skills preferred as there will be collaboration with the ER and inpatient units. The surge RN has a 1:4 patient ratio and LNA 1:14.About the Job:The surge nurse delivers care to patients and families with needs ranging from basic to complex utilizing the nursing process. Creates a therapeutic and caring environment for patients and families.
