DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position leads nursing operations by supervising staff, coordinating resident care, and ensuring that services meet quality standards in a veterans home setting. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Staff Guidance: Provide direction to nurses during daily care activities, treatments, and medication administration
• Care Oversight: Monitor resident conditions, document care, and report changes to appropriate personnel
• Supervisory Duties: Plan, assign, and evaluate work while managing staffing, performance, and training needs
• Resident Support: Investigate complaints and help maintain safe, effective, and respectful care practices
• Resource Planning: Ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and staffing levels to meet resident needs
• Quality Monitoring: Review documentation, assessments, and care plans to maintain accuracy and compliance

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30‑minute lunch. You will work every other weekend.
• 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM)
• 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

• Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements

• You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination .
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
• Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
