Job summary

Novant Health in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac II Unit on a full-time, 12-hour night shift (7p–7a). The RN leads the healthcare team, collaborates with physicians, and develops an individualized plan of care for patients and their support systems.

Qualifications include a nursing degree, active RN licensure in the appropriate state, and preferred 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; RN licensure required.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• One year of relevant nursing experience preferred; current RN licensure in the appropriate state.

Responsibilities

• Lead the healthcare team and build an authentic relationship with the patient and support system.
• Collaborate with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Provide care in accordance with current policies and procedures ensuring safety and quality.

Our unit is built on a foundation of 43 beds, teamwork, and family focus, creating a tight-knit community where everyone is supported. Additionally, we offer a transition program from step-down to ICU, providing a seamless pathway for nurses seeking to expand their skills and expertise.

The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
