Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Registered Nurse Special Procedures (IR) PRN to support interventional radiology procedures. You will assist physicians, monitor IV access, manage medications, and assist with patient care across the IR suite.

Qualified candidates will hold an RN license and Associate Degree, with ACLS/BCLS or willing to obtain within specified timelines; prior Interventional Radiology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 6 months of start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of start date.
• RN—Registered Nurse credentialing required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor EKG when needed.
• Administer medications and blood as ordered.
• Initiate saline locks and IVs per protocol.
• Perform catheterization within department.
• Monitor patients receiving IV sedation under Radiologist supervision.
• Inform Radiologist/Technologist of any patient condition changes.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Special Procedures (IR) for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. As a Special Procedures RN, you will be responsible for setup and assist physicians with procedures as needed (i.e., abscess drainage, biopsy, consent for invasive procedures and follow-ups, as necessary). We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other, and we are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

What You Will Do In Your Role:

• You will be responsible for EKG monitoring, when necessary

• You will be responsible for administering medications/blood as ordered

• You will be responsible for start of saline locks and IV’s according to IVP/CT protocol

• You will be responsible for catheterization of patients in department

• You will monitor patients receiving IV sedation under the direct supervision of the Radiologist

• You will be responsible for informing the Radiologist/Technologist of any penitent changes in the patient’s condition

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• (RN) Registered Nurse

• Associate Degree

• 1 year RN critical care experience in an acute care setting

• Interventional Radiology experience preferred
