Responsibilities

• Provides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions and coordinating with the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories and examining residents.
• Teaches residents and families about care, medications, and self-care skills.
• Evaluates resident care against standards and adjusts care plan as needed.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment per policies and infection-control rules.
• Keeps care equipment operating and stocks supplies; performs preventive maintenance.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to/from the facility.
• Directs workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing staff.
• Maintains competence in nursing capabilities as guided by leadership.
