Job summary

Henry Ford Health Genesys is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse for our SICU, working full-time nights (7pm-7:30am) with Friday–Monday schedule and every third weekend. The role includes administration of meds and IVs, patient monitoring, and urgent response to emergencies.

Qualifications include Michigan RN license, BLS, and RN program graduation. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered. Join a multidisciplinary team focused on high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN credentialed from Michigan Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire date.
• BLS Provider certification credentialed by AHA within 90 days of hire date; or Certified Instructor.
• Graduate of an approved RN nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing care per standards and guidelines.
• Develop multidisciplinary care plans while honoring patient rights and preferences.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications and self‑care.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products and other interventions per policy.
• Monitor vital signs, labs, pain, I/O and glucose; respond to changes in condition.
• Assist with catheterization, wound care, specimen collection, IV therapy and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers and staff for discharge planning.
• Respond to emergencies, operate equipment, follow protocols.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes timely and accurately.
• Promote safety, infection prevention, confidentiality and quality improvement.

GENERAL SUMMARY

• Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established standards, clinical practice guidelines, and patient care goals.
• Develop and coordinate multidisciplinary plans of care while promoting patient rights, dignity, culture, preferences, and expressed needs.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, safety measures, discharge instructions, and self‑care needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other therapeutic interventions according to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor patient physiological status, including vital signs, lab results, pain levels, intake/output, and blood glucose, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in condition.
• Perform and assist with nursing procedures including catheterization, wound care, specimen collection, IV therapy, and patient preparation for procedures and surgery.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, hospital staff, patients, families, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care and effective discharge planning.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations through timely intervention, use of emergency equipment, and adherence to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, patient education, and outcomes.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, confidentiality, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members while fostering a respectful, collaborative work environment.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Or Certified Instructor.
• Education: Requires a graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
