Missouri Veterans Home is seeking a Registered Nurse - Shift Supervisor to lead nursing staff, oversee patient care for our veterans, and uphold our mission of compassionate service. Missouri RN licensure in good standing and 2+ years of nursing experience are required.

You will supervise rounds, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, document in the EMR, and oversee staff performance. Hourly pay ranges: $46.18 for day shifts and $50.34 for evenings/nights.

Responsibilities

• Make rounds on assigned shift to direct and evaluate nursing services, monitor workflow, and redefine priorities as needed.
• Communicate with unit manager regarding data and issues related to each unit.
• Identify veterans at high risk and communicate to staff at all levels.
• Document accurately and timely in the EMR.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• Oversee supervision, recruitment, retention, performance management, and discipline of nursing staff.
• Assist with veteran care as needed, including lifting.

Hourly Pay:

• $46.18 day shift
• $50.34 evening and night shift

Examples of Work:

• Make rounds on assigned shift in order to direct and evaluate nursing services, monitor work flow, and redefine priorities as needed
• Communicate with the unit manager regarding data collected and pertinent issues related to each unit
• Identify Veterans who are high risk for negative outcomes and communicate to staff at all levels
• Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Communicate and participate with the interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation when indicated
• Oversee the supervision, recruitment, retention, performance management, discipline, clinical instruction, and feedback to the nursing staff
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
• Assist the nursing team with Veteran care as needed, which may include lifting

Qualifications:

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Missouri – in good standing
• 2+ years of experience as a registered nurse
