Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced RN for our fast-paced pre/post operative area, where we care for surgical patients from multiple specialties. This role involves recovery of Endoscopy patients, collaboration with a top medical team, and opportunities to learn and grow your nursing skills.

We operate Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm with minimal call; weekend and holiday shifts are not scheduled, and referral eligibility with location differential

Qualifications

• ASN is required; BSN preferred.
• Indiana RN license required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program required.
• Candidates with >2 years acute care experience may be considered if not from a nationally accredited program (subject to CNO review).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory; other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a fast-paced pre/postoperative area.
• Recover Endoscopy patients and support perioperative teams.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to learn and grow nursing skills.
• Shift: FT Days, 5:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday; no scheduled weekends or holidays; minimal call every 6 weeks.

Overview

We are looking for someone with at least 1+ year of RN experience.

Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals.

This is a fast-paced pre/post area. We pre-op a variety of surgical patients from multiple specialties. Currently we recover Endoscopy patients. If you are a team player and eager to learn and grow your nursing skills, we have availability for nurses. We are open Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Monday-Friday, no scheduled weekends or holidays. Minimal call is required within a 6-week period.

This position is referral eligible and qualifies for a location differential.

Shift: FT Days - 5:30am-4:00pm Mon-Fri, no scheduled weekends or holidays. Minimal call is required within a 6-week period.

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities

• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
