Job summary

ChristianaCare’s Pediatric Care Center in Newark, DE is seeking a Registered Nurse for a winter temporary program. You will work 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM in the Pediatric Care Center, caring for patients from birth through age 17 in a pediatric emergency and general acute care environment.

The 12-week program offers 48 or 72 hours per pay period; two days of orientation are required. BSN is preferred; ADN is required. Epic experience and weekend/holiday commitments are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• 2 years of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
• RN experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care and/or Pediatric Stepdown required
• BLS certification required
• BSN preferred; ADN required
• Epic-prepared and competent in assigned clinical area
• Complete two days of orientation
• Commit to the 12-week program
• Meet weekend and holiday commitment

Responsibilities

• Care for pediatric patients from birth through age 17 in night shifts.
• Provide family-centered care in a collaborative team setting.
• Maintain clinical competencies in the assigned unit with orientation completed.

Our Pediatric Care Center features 14 beds and provides a unique blend of emergency and general pediatric acute care. As a Pediatric Care Center RN, you will care for patients from birth through age 17 with a wide range of conditions, including RSV, sepsis, asthma, fractures, gastrointestinal illnesses, head and body injuries, high fevers, infections, abdominal pain, and more.
